Infectious Disease Analyst (US – Security Cleared)

Objective of the role: We are seeking an experienced Epidemiologist to join our infectious disease analyst team as an Outbreak Risk Assessment specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the risk of outbreaks in countries and regions worldwide for spread and pandemic potential, using statistical models, data analysis, and surveillance systems. Your insights and output will inform critical decision-making by clients across multiple sectors including, for government, public health, pharmaceutical, medtech, investor and other business sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse data from various sources to identify and monitor disease outbreaks, including epidemiological reports, public health bulletins, media reports, and other relevant data sources and turn findings into clear insights into written and oral analysis for clients

  • Develop and implement outbreak risk assessment tools and methodologies to identify high-risk areas and populations.

  • Analyse and interpret data using statistical models and predictive analytics to forecast the likelihood of outbreaks and their potential impact on populations.

  • Use data visualisation tools to present complex data in a clear way

  • Present analysis to public health authorities, healthcare organizations, and other stakeholders on outbreak spread and impact of prevention and control strategies.

  • Become the client facing expert lead within infectious disease epidemiology

  • Maintain and update databases and other tools to support outbreak risk assessment and monitoring.

  • Potential to also assume people management responsibilities over time

  • Support epidemiology related work on other therapy areas where needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A doctoral degree in epidemiology or a related field with a focus on infectious disease.

  • Experience in outbreak investigation, surveillance, and analysis.

  • Experience in using statistical models, data analysis, and predictive analytics to forecast disease outbreaks and their potential impact.

  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools such as SAS, R, or Python.

  • Knowledge of public health policies and interventions related to infectious disease prevention and control.

  • US Security cleared

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team of experts and stakeholders.
