Junior Data Acquisition Specialist – Publications and Trials

Company: Airfinity is a leading provider of data and analytics solutions in the pharmaceutical industry, helping clients understand disease landscapes, predict demand, and improve outcomes in different infectious disease spaces.

Objective of the role: The Junior Data Acquisition Specialist role is a key role within Airfinity working within the data team to produce insight and intelligence for our clients relating to different aspects of infectious diseases and cardiometabolic health. This role will focus on working in a team to ensure all our publication and trial data is collected and annotated in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with team members to collect and annotate publication and trial data

  • Assess quality of annotations and research

  • Become intrinsically familiar with our proprietary life science database

  • Have a holistic view of the data core and how the data core could be expanded

  • Maintain accurate databases which have been cross checked by a wide range of sources

  • Identify new sources of data to include in the database

  • Complete bespoke research tasks on a specific scientific area with confidence

Skills and Qualifications: Essential:

  • Expertise and deep interest in scientific research, particularly in the infectious disease and/or cardiometabolic space

  • Undergraduate in life sciences

  • Familiarity with relational dataset structure/willing to learn about data architecture

  • Strong organisational habits and an ability to meet tight deadlines - deliver high quality outputs at pace

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Read, evaluate, and extract scientific literature

  • Working with relational and non-relational database technologies

Desired:

  • Experience in using biological databases and data curation

  • Experience in implementation of data management best practices

  • Working with relational and non-relational database technologies

  • Applicants fluent in other languages strongly recommended to apply, particularly in Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Hebrew
